Reviews for The Spice of America
RatingComments
4For a relatively small book, this has a lot of American trivia/history. With short chapters ranging from "The State That Wasn't There" to "The Heavy Pants of Mr. Strauss," it tells snippets of history to children in an interesting way. This book would be especially good to read aloud to young children to help them become interested in history. Best chapter? Probably "How the Hole Got There," - about doughnuts!
