Reviews for The Secret Garden (2 vol.)
5This is one of our most popular books and is now available from Seedlings as an E-Braille Book (To order, please see the E-Braille Book section).

5I read this book as a child growing up on a farm, with lots of fields bordering it. I loved it then, with all the wonderful descriptions of nature and the power of the outdoors and other children's companionship to inspire and encourage. I also loved that contrary characters like Mary, Colin, and Ben Weatherstaff taught one another how to be friends. The idea sounds so simple summed up like that, but there's nothing more important for humanity. Some modern kids might turn their noses up at the old-fashioned language (now, we write: "he said," "she said," not "he cried," etc.). But the book also presents the possibility that there is a whole world within each person's imagination, and not all fun has to come from devices with tiny screens and buttons. Read the book! Then go explore outside!
